After a DIY project went bad, a 29-year-old guy was only left with minor scratches and a little hand fracture.

In order to build a fire pit for his garden, Arda Hancioglu (seen in the photo) was using an angle grinder when the cutting disc broke and he lost control of the machine.

“He added, adding that he assumed this was because of the weight imbalance, “I was cutting a steel barrel in half when all of a sudden a portion of the disc brake and the movement of the grinder became uncontrollable.”

“When I finally realized what had happened, I was able to release the grinder and turn off the power.”

“But because everything went so tragically wrong so quickly, I was unaware for a short period of time that the cutting disc and shrapnel were striking my hands at roughly 4000-5000 RPM.”

Arda didn’t notice the discomfort in his hands and fingers until the electricity was turned off.

Even though he was wearing cut- and abrasion-resistant ProChoice Arax safety gloves, the pain was so intense that he initially believed something had gone badly wrong.

“At first, I actually hurled myself to the ground and rolled around in agony.”
However, as soon as my thinking became a little clearer, I was able to remove my gloves and wash them.

Arda stated he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw his hands.

Prochoice Safety Gloves

“The ProChoice ARAX Gloves kept Arda’s hand from being lost.”

Even though there was blood, it was simply from very small scratches. There were no cuts or grazes of any significance.

“The hit caused discomfort, but he was spared more severe injuries, suffering just mild swelling, bleeding, and a very little fracture to one of his fingers.”

“Arda was outfitted with a long sleeve work hoodie, steel-toe boots, work pants, safety glasses, and ProChoice Safety Gear Arax safety gloves at the time of the incident.”

The situation “might have ended very terribly, I feel, if it weren’t for the quality of my Arax gloves,” stated Arda.

“My fingers may no longer operate at all, if at all.”
“I didn’t even have to take time off of work, though.”
“I’m very glad I wore my gloves that day, and ProChoice is to thank for my safety.”

“When asked about the accident’s effects and what he would advise others to do, Arda’s replied that it had emphasized the value of working safely.”

I am now more conscious of how rapidly things might turn for the worse. No matter how big or small the project may be, safety should always come first, which is my piece of advice to others.

And remember to utilize the appropriate safety gear and tools for the job at hand, as well as to check that the equipment you use meets the necessary quality requirements, just like my ProChoice Arax gloves did.
